Poured Out

Oct 19, 2017 – Part 5 of 5 in the series ‘There Be Dragons’

This week at Southwinds, our message came from 2 Timothy 4:6-22.  This was the final message in the series titled “There Be Dragons”.  The meaning behind this odd series title comes from old cartographers.  These map makers would draw out the known boundaries of land and water.  Then in the margins, outside the area of their knowledge and experience, they would write, “Beyond here, there be dragons”.  It’s the idea of the unknown.

In this final message, we see the encouragement from Paul to Timothy and from God to us all to be poured out as an offering to God.  As we follow Jesus, we must all fight the good fight, run the race, and keep the faith.  We must guard the treasure that is the truth of God and share it with a world that desperately needs it.
